This post is all about how one can organise their bedroom wardrobe in a most functional manner.
Are you someone who is looking for organising your bedroom wardrobe once in for all? Then, my friend you are at a right place. I will tell you exactly how with these 10 amazing strategies you can achieve a much organised and well maintained bedroom wardrobe for yourself.
So let’s get started!
1. Separate your clothes by categories:
When it’s comes to organising your wardrobe, the first thing you need to do right is separate your clothes into categories.
Take out all your clothes from your wardrobe and keep all of them on your bed and then start separating your clothes into categories like dresses, tops, jeans, pants, t-shirts, nightwears, accessories and undergarments. First sort all the items in a single category before moving to the next category as that way you will be able to separate all your clothes much faster.
2. Deep clean your closet:
One of the important part of organising is to clean things up. To give your wardrobe a neat and well maintained look, it is important to give your closet a proper deep cleaning. Properly clean all the shelves, take out dirts off from the corners and walls. Take out any unnecessary items that are placed in the shelves like pins, paper etc.
By doing this, you will be able to achieve a ready to use, neat and clean closet.
3. Imagine your ideal closet space:
Imagine how at the end you want your closet to look like. If your goal is to achieve a more systematic and functional wardrobe at the end then imagine the ways by which you will be able to achieve that. Think of utilising each space of your closet in a way that it becomes visually more appealing and at the same time more functional when it comes to accessing things.
4. Keep and store your clothes by category:
When it comes to storing clothes in the closet, ideal thing to do is to keep same category items together. For example, keep all your jeans at one place, keep all your tops or t-shirts at one place so that it becomes easy to access your clothes much faster when you know exactly what is placed where.
5. Hang items that are delicate or sturdy:
We all have some set of clothes that require extra care like fancy heavy work dresses, skirts, suits, coats and blazers. These are clothes that are either delicate or sturdy, so it is ideal to hang them properly to avoid any wear and tear. Hang all the clothes facing the same direction so that the closet looks visually more appealing and neat.
6. Use similar hangers:
Using similar type of hangers is crucial for giving your closet a sleek and streamlined look. I personally love wooden finish hangers as they look absolutely classy when I hang my suits, coats, blazers, dresses on them. It gives my closet a more visually satisfying look overall.
7. Store thick items at one place:
Thick items like sweater and other winter clothes make perfect stacks for your big drawer or big shelf space. I generally store them in my big drawer space when I am not using them and then during winters, I keep them on a big shelf space. They are sturdy and thick, so they don’t lose their shape when you stack them. When you keep them in one single place, it becomes easier to access them as you can easily see through what is kept where.
8. Roll easy to fold clothes into drawer space:
The items like nightwear, leggings, cotton shirt, undergarments are generally thin and easily foldable. It is ideal to keep such items directly into a drawer space as it becomes easy to access them on a day to day basis. You can easily see through what you need and can pick required items in no time.
The best way to keep them more organised is to fold them into half and then roll them into neat little small tubes.
9. Keep your regular used clothes at eye level:
It is important to keep your regular used clothes at eye level because that way it becomes easier for you to find and grab your clothes on a daily basis without any hustle.
Keep your lesser used clothes either above or below the regular used clothes section and least used clothes that you wear very occasionally should be ideally kept in the top shelf. So that they remain untouched and well maintained even for a long period.
10. Give color-code to your wardrobe:
Last but not the least, if you are a visual person, try giving color-code to your wardrobe. You can group similar color dresses/shirts together so that it becomes easier for you to choose and select your clothes which you would like to wear based on your color preference.
It is quite helpful for people who often go out for meetings, gatherings or functions as it becomes easy to choose and pick clothes in no time.
