Ingredients required for this easy palak paneer recipe
– Butter/ Refined Oil
– Ginger
– Garlic
– Red Chilli Powder
– Salt
– Paneer
– Spinach (palak)
Quantity required (Ideal for two members)
1. One bundle of palak (250 grams)
2. 1 tablespoon refined oil or butter
3. 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
4. Salt as per taste
5. 1/2 tablespoon ginger garlic fine paste.
6. 150 grams paneer
Step by step guide of easy palak paneer recipe
1. The ultimate blanching process
- Rinse the spinach leaves thoroughly in a clean water bowl.
- Boil 4 cups of water in a pan. Add the spinach leaves in the boiled water for just 1 minute.
- Strain the spinach leaves
- After straining the spinach leaves properly, put it directly in an ice cold water container or a bowl. This will help in locking all the nutrients that are there in spinach and will also help in retaining the dark green color of spinach.
- Now drain the ice water and keep the strained spinach leaves aside. This will complete your blanching process.
2. Grinding process
- Add the spinach in a blender or in a grinder jar and make a thick purée. Please don’t add water while grinding the spinach.
- Keep the thick spinach purée aside.
3. The final cooking process
- Add 1 tablespoon butter in a pan or in a kadai. Let the butter get melted in low flame. Ensure that it doesn’t turn brown in color.
- Now add 1/2 tablespoon fine ginger garlic paste in the butter and let it splutter.
- Add the thick green palak purée in it, mix it well and cook the purée for 5 minutes in low flame until the gravy looks well cooked and more thick.
- Now add red chilli powder 1/2 teaspoon and salt as per taste and stir it well.
- Lastly add paneer cubes in the gravy. Please don’t fry the paneer cubes if you want to achieve the raw taste of paneer.
- Cook the gravy for one minute in low flame and turn the burner off.
- Lastly for giving the recipe a final touch, add crushed paneer and spread it all over the gravy.
- Serve the delicious palak paneer hot with chapati, paratha or jeera rice. You can top it with some butter while serving to make it more tempting and mouth watering so that one can’t resist eating it!
