This post is all about my personal experience of visiting Egg Factor by Chef Kumar in Bengaluru.
Egg Factor By Chef Kumar
Egg Factor is a street food place in HSR Layout (Hosur-Sarjapur Road Layout), Bengaluru. This place is run by Chef Kumar who is passionate about omelette recipes. He has earlier worked abroad as a Chef in Ships but he decided to return back to India 7 years back to be with his wife and daughter. He then slowly with arranging all his money started a small street food shop in HSR layout. With his wife and family support, he managed to establish his food shop in a few years’ time. He came up with some amazing omelette recipes that are absolutely tempting and mind-blowing!
If you are familiar with HSR layout, you must be knowing that most of the startups are in HSR layout, it is considered as a startup hub of Bengaluru. Most of the migrated people and youngsters live in the HSR layout because HSR is considered as one of the most happening places in Bengaluru.
You will often see youngsters in HSR having street food during the evening and night time. HSR Layout has a lot of street food places where younger people love going. One of such places is Egg Factor, I and my husband when we were dating use to go to this place many times to eat omelette dish of our choice. My husband’s friend introduced us to this place. He used to visit this place very often with his friends.
Due to Pandemic, this place got closed last year for almost 8 months as no one was having outside food due to Covid cases all around. We went there a couple of times but we saw that the shop was no more there. Very recently, my husband had a craving for omelette and he searched on google for Egg Factor and saw that the shop is open again. We decided to go there and have our favorite omellete dishes.
We went there and as soon as he saw us, he was so happy as we were his old customers. He smiled at me in a very surprising way. Then he asked us what we would like to have? We saw the whiteboard where all his available omelette dishes for the day were mentioned. Looking at the menu, me and my husband decided to have one mutton pepper omellete. As he was preparing the food for us, he was curiously looking at me as if he wanted to ask something but maybe feeling shy.
To start a conversation with him, I asked him how is your wife. He replied, “wait I will call her. She will come down to meet you”. I said “Ok” and smiled. I realized just above the shop, they have a house where they live. After lockdown, they shifted to this new place where they can have their home and food shop together in one place, which was great.
Soon, his wife came down and met us. We chatted with each other for some time while the food was getting prepared and then once the food was ready, he served it hot. I and my husband had our first bite of mutton pepper omelette, which was so delicious and mind-blowing! The flavor of pepper with mutton and omelette was going so well that we craved for having some more. Then we decided to have some other dish, we ordered chicken cheese omellete, which was also very yum and tasty!
While I was eating chicken cheese omelette, he finally took the courage and asked me, “I want to ask something but I am feeling shy so my wife will ask you”. I laughed out loud as I got what he wanted to ask. I replied,”Yes, I am pregnant and that’s why my belly is out”. hahaha:)
Listening to my reply he got so happy as if the child in him has come out. That was really a sweet gesture and so innocent of him. He and his wife then wished us for this good news. I must say they both are really a very sweet couple and at the same time very hard working. He and his wife every single day work from 10 am to 10 pm so that they can run their food shop successfully.
Conclusion:
If you are a food lover like me and if you love street food, and love non-veg omellete dishes, then this is the place for you. You must visit this place to have the flavor of spices and non-veg in an omellete.
You will get so many varieties of non-veg omelettes that you will not find it boring at all. I can tell you, you will not regret your decision to visit this place. Chef Kumar and his wife are so kind and they welcome each customer with so much warmth and love.
So, now what are you waiting for? Go and experience yourself and enjoy some delicious and mouth-watering omellete dishes! Do drop me a comment once you visit this place. I would love to hear about your experience.
